Dance and parenthood - strategies for fair care work in culture

"At the centre of our anniversary year is a two-day symposium on the topic of dance and parenthood. It will address the question of how fair working conditions can be created for freelance dance professionals with care responsibilities and what structural changes are necessary to achieve this.
A working group made up of freelance artists and the Tanzbüro team has been working intensively on this topic since 2022. The challenges are great and the solutions require cooperation on many levels. That is why we are inviting representatives from the dance scene, academia, administration and cultural policy to look for new approaches together.
The symposium offers a varied programme with lectures, workshops, discussions and a cultural policy panel. The focus will be on topics such as accessibility in everyday production, new funding models, solidarity-based working structures and the development of concrete approaches to action.
Our aim is to create visibility, promote dialogue and work together towards a fairer cultural working environment."
